October
7, 2000 - a very
chilly, but sunny Saturday was the day for this years' party at the home of
Nedda and Marvin Honig in Pittstown, (Northern Rensselaer County), New York.
We felt particularly fortunate in that the rain which had been threatening us
all day held off.
We had a total of 22 people and 17 dogs with everyone off leash.
The day
consisted of talking, eating, playing with all sorts of Coton de Tulears of
every color combination possible (I think), more eating, feeding the dogs
their treats, watching them run, chase, hump, play, and more, until they all
collapsed in several scattered heaps of multi-colored fur. Oh yes, I
forgot to mention that there must have been at least 3 camcorders, 2 or 3 or
more digital cameras, several 35 mm cameras and unfortunately, one camera
whose battery decided to quit just when it was going to be used - what a
bummer!
After
dessert and coffee, we all "retired" to the inside to warm up around
3 pm. or so - finally, as it was getting later and later people started to say
their good-byes, give each other hugs, kisses (both human and doggie) and take
their leave since many had a several hour car trip ahead of them.
Others
stayed longer and shared some great Shiraz (courtesy of Maria Zayatz and
Victoria Petrofsky) and more fascinating conversations. The last people to
leave left around 8-8:30 pm. for a long long trip home.
On the pages to
follow will be pictures that we have currently. I will add more if and when
our cyberfriends snail mail or e-mail them to me but I wanted to share with
you what we have so far. (George
Teommey's pictures were mostly in panoramic format so may take a bit of extra
time to load. )
Thank you all
again for coming - we enjoyed meeting the new folks and seeing the ones from
last year again. If I have mixed up anyone's dog with another please forgive
me and let me know to correct it. If we have left anyway out it was not
intentional!
